This project is really effective for farming on Mars and far more better than greenhouses. This plant is going to be an ultimate source of survival on Mars where people will fly there by 2033. In Mars, due to the lack of liquid water and proper sunlight with adequate temperature, life on the red planet is hardly possible; but this plant will grow in those harsh conditions. It is going to contain some features of potato plants, some of the coniferous trees on cold regions in our Earth and it will also contain the features of cactus. Recent exploration proved that farming Potatoes on Mars is possible as shown in the movie, The Martian. In February, some of the tubers were thrown into a Mars-like conditioned area and the results were positive enough to get planted on Mars! The Coniferous trees can survive with the lack of heat and temperature. The Cacti stores water inside their stems, so our plant can do the same. This plant will bear fruit containing carbohydrates, protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals as these are necessary for a person to survive. A typical Martian soil contains Oxygen, Carbon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Potassium, Phosphorus, Calcium, Magnesium, Sulfur, Iron, Manganese, Zinc, Copper, Molybdenum, Boron, Chlorine and typically plants require Nitrogen, Phosphorous, Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium, Sulfur, Iron, Zinc, Copper, Boron, Molybdenum and Nickel, which are pretty much similar and that means the plantation with Martian soil is possible. Because of these, we guess if it is implemented rather than greenhouse, it would be much more effective than those.
