Welcome to the NASA Space Apps Challenge 2017 in Napoli!
This is an exciting two-day global event that connects diverse and dynamic community of innovators working together for helping some of the most pressing challenges on Earth and Space. We invite everyone who have passion to know about Earth and Space and have any interesting idea to work with a team of interdisciplinary group on various global challenges. Join us during the weekend on 29th and 30th of April 2017!
WHERE
This year, Space Apps Challenge in Napoli changes venue: the press conference and the hackathon will be hosted at University of Naples Federico II's new campus in San Giovanni a Teduccio area, building "Gruppo C" close to the Apple iOS Developer Academy.
How to reach the venue:
- Public transportation: Metropolitana di Napoli, linea 2 - Stop: Napoli S.Giovanni Barra and then 550 meters walking
- By car: the address is Corso Nicolangelo Protopisani, 70, 80146.
Parking is available and free.

Registration:
It is absolutely free and open to all individuals and groups who contribute to solve the challenges i.e. students, engineers, entrepreneurs, developers, designers... everyone interested in science and technology!
Awards:
- Local judging: on Sunday afternoon, three teams will be awarded as local winners, based on the presentation of their activities. The selected teams will be nominated for the global judging.
- Global judging: NASA will select the winners.
- In addition, one People's Choice will be announced during the Space Apps Event.
Information:
- Bring your laptop for the event.
- Wi-Fi connection is available.
- Lunch will be provided on Saturday and Sunday.
- Participants have to arrange their own accommodation.
- Remeber to upload your project on the SpaceApps website before the end of the event. Have a look to last year projects, here you can see an example:

Program:
- A press conference will be held on April 28th at 11:00 at the University Federico II - Scuola Politecnica e delle Scienze di Base - Complesso Napoli Est di San Giovanni a Teduccio.
- Space Apps event will start on Saturday morning and close on Sunday afternoon
HACKATHON UTLITY:
For all the Space Apps participants, Sinergise is offering a Sentinel Hub services for processing and distribution of earth observation data. They are 10 accounts to the service available to each of the first 50 locations who request it on a first come, first served basis.
So, if someone is interesting to process Optical and Hyperspectral data from Sentinel and Landsat sensors request your account as soon is possible.
